Dr. Ömer Tekdemir is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University. He was previously a Visiting Academic in Political Economy at the Durham Business School, Durham University, after gaining his PhD in Political Science and International Relations from the School of Government and International Affairs and Ustinov College, at Durham University. He also completed his MA in International Relations and Contemporary Political Theory at the Centre for the Study of Democracy, University of Westminster. His research interests include, International Relation Theory; Political Economy; Political Theory; Critical Approach; Discourse Analysis; Democracy; Populism; Identity; Citizenship; Conflict and Peace Study; within the EU, Middle Eastern, and Turkey area studies. He is currently working on a book, The Political Economy of Kurdish Political Identity.
