Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu gave a talk entitled “Current Challenges Facing the EU and the Larger Europe, and Turkey’s Possible Contribution” in Centre for Policy Analysis and Research on Turkey (ResearchTurkey)’s featuring conference.
This event was jointly organised with KCL Turkish Society took place on Thursday, 18 April 2013 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at K2.31 Nash Lecture Theatre, Strand Campus, King’s College London, Strand, WC2R 2LS. Dr. Simon Waldman (Middle East & Mediterranean Studies, King’s College London) kindly chaired this event.
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is a founding member and Deputy Chairman in charge of Foreign Affairs of Justice And Development Party (AK Parti). Mr. Çavuşoğlu studied PhD. on ‘sustainable environmental economy and sustainable development’ at the London School Economics. He has been elected as Member of Parliament from Antalya province on 22th, 23th and 24th (current) terms. He served as the President of the Turkish delegation to the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE). He has also been a member of Migration, Refugees and Population Commission, member of Commission for Auditing, Co-rapporteur of Bosnia-Herzegovina at the PACE. Çavuşoğlu also worked as Vice President of European Democratic Group. Mr. Çavuşoğlu was elected as the president of PACE in 2010 and served until 2012.
